PayChain brand tokens — the one point of variation in the design system.

PayChain Corporate Identity Guidelines v1.0, effective 22 September 2026.
These five values are the CI's colour system; every other sheet in ~/design
reads --brand-* from here and contains no brand hex of its own, so changing
   them reskins the entire MIS.

--brand-primary #B58A45 Trust Gold — brand accent and primary action
--brand-secondary #6E6A63 Stone — secondary text and supporting marks
--brand-accent #D8BC85 Gold Light — gold on DARK surfaces only
--brand-ink #111111 Obsidian — chrome, sidebar, shield, headings
--brand-canvas #F4F0E7 Ivory — the warm page and interface background

THE TWO RULES THAT ARE EASY TO BREAK

   1. TRUST GOLD IS NEVER BODY TEXT ON IVORY. The CI measures that pairing at
2.76:1 and rules it out explicitly. Gold is a FILL — buttons, rules, the
value path, key emphasis — and when it is filled it takes Obsidian ink,
not white. The bridge computes ink-on-accent from relative luminance, so
a gold button gets #111111 type automatically; do not override it.

   2. GOLD LIGHT IS THE DARK-SURFACE GOLD. On Obsidian it measures 10.30:1
against Trust Gold's 6.01:1, so the sidebar, the dark KPI tile and the
chart line use --brand-accent while anything on ivory uses
      --brand-primary. They are not interchangeable.

Approved text pairings from the CI, for reference:
       Ivory on Obsidian 16.60:1
       Gold Light on Obsidian 10.30:1
       Trust Gold on Obsidian 6.01:1
       Stone on Ivory 4.73:1

Per-domain white-labelling still overrides all of this: _CommonMasterLayout
   emits a <style id="domain-accent"> block from MisDomainTheme.PrimaryColour
AFTER every sheet — but only for the roles that are scoped to a domain. A
merchant, a counter assistant and a SuperAdmin always see this palette, never
   a domain's. See BrandContext.

   --blue/--violet/--cyan/--ink/--nav/--navy/--canvas/--bg beneath are the
legacy aliases the SmartSuite design sheets still reference by name. They are
not duplicates to be tidied away; finance.css reads several of them directly.
--blue and --cyan are gold here, which is why nothing in the product is blue
any more — that is the reskin, not a mistake.
